Randomly turning off the screen

Opened this issue · 12 comments

Using or holding the device (in my case an RG35XX H) the display randomly goes into standby, even though it is inserted do so after 5 minutes.

Screensaver?

Screensaver?

It also activates randomly while playing 😅

Then I suggest, you try Stock OS without a mod and complain to, whoever you bought the device from, if it still happens.

I solved it by removing the screen time out

So it was the screen saver but it wrongly kicked in?

Maybe you can close the ticket, when it's solved?

It's not solved because if I activate the time out of for example 2 minutes it works after 2 minutes but randomly in the game or menu (while I use it) also activates. Same problem occurs on another RG35XX H

I doubt it's the mod's fault.

As I said:

Only when you tested without a mod and it doesn't happen there, then it seems to be the mod's fault.

With the stock version I didn't notice any problems, in fact I can tell you that switching to V2.3 / V2.4 (I don't remember which one) caused the problem and in the meantime the stock had not yet been updated for a few months

Okay… If you say so.

Then I'll hope for you that cbepx-me can take a look into your issue. But I doubt it.

As I said: Please go back to an unmodded Stock OS to see whether or not it's really the mod's fault.

BTW: I received, some weeks ago, an RG35XX which had a similar symptom with Stock OS. But its screen turned black already after a few seconds.

When I opened it up, to disconnect the battery, I noticed, that the device was very hot.

I think the previous owner charged it with a USB-C charger and fried the mainboard.

I hope for you this isn't the case.

As said on stock I don't have these problems and they happened from a specific version of the stock mod. I didn't fry anything because I use a 5V 1A charger with its original cable, as well as another RG35XX H of a friend of mine with stock mod has the same problem.

Okay then. If you do not want to make sure, it's the mod's fault and not the devices fault, then best of luck.

I'm out now as I cannot help.

But what you're saying. I have already tried with the Anbernic stock firmware and the problem is not there, and it is not my RG35XX H because it has no technical problems and I say this as an IT and electronics technician. Then, as mentioned, on another RG35XX H there are the same problems where the screen turns off, new console bought a few days ago and there is also the stock mod. If it's the mod, there may be problems and I don't blame the developer.
