message is persisting in address bar when tried to add new account - account set-up looped

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.created new twitter account
2.added to twitterbar
3. the add function looped - posting message persisted in address bar
after all
shut down - rebooted no help

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.9 osx firefox 3.6

Please provide any additional information below.

"posting to twitter ..." message remains right hand side address bar
