Delete the NFC permission that the app requires
Opened this issue · 8 comments
I downloaded the app from F-Droid and the app can control NFC on smarphones.

Why an imageboard viewer requires this permission?
Delete this requirement as soon as posible.

Thanks.
NFC is only used to push the currently viewed thread to another device. You can see the code in StartActivity and ThreadController, methods named createNDefMessage(NfcEvent event).

I saw it in the code and I know you are not doing something shady, but I NFC is known to be used in contactless payment systems, so I find it a bit controversial when an app requires that permission.
Did you considered using bluetooth or something similar to push the currently viewed thread to another device?
- I'm not the owner of the repo.
- It was added 4 years ago. It's probably not going away.
You can always build it yourself without the NFC code and sideload it.

Do you mean suggesting a pull request?
You're free to do that as well.
Clover only uses NFC to share threads iirc, if you don't like that deny the permission or build clover without the permission.
@kakolisgay stop being a fag, and stop browsing 4chin.
Beam is deprecated, we should remove it.
