can't add books

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. scan or search for book
2. press add book
3. book not added to identity
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the book I added to show up. My old books are there but I can't add anything new.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I turned off the splash screen, so I don't see a version but the play store doesn't have an update. I'm using it on my droid dna version 4.1.1.
Please provide any additional information below.
