@BernhardBaumrock looks like something broke with chartjs v2.7.0 and above. It was working with v2.6.0 https://jsfiddle.net/dbn7xt2f/1/

I, unfortunately, don't have enough time to debug. If you're interested in fixing it I can give you write access.
