timeout does not work anymore

I tried the release "grub4dos-0.4.6a-2023-06-23" and noticed that the timeout command does not work any more.
timeout 5

The "5" is shown, but it does not decrement. Worked in the past. Please fix this.

Last working version is the release from 2023-06-15.

It works again in release grub4dos-0.4.6a-2023-07-01.
