trouble with using a new controller

I recently got 3 new fans in addition to the ones I have been using with no issues, and installed the new ones no problem. They work fine in Windows but no combination of settings seems to work. As far as I'm aware they are RiingPlus fans like my old ones, but I think the controller is different and that's is causing issues. I can try and provide any additional details needed.
