Ds4drv with Retropie stops keyboard in emulators

After adding the /usr/local/bin/ds4drv --led 000008 & line to the /etc/rc.local file, the controller would connect and be recognized by emulationstation and as long as the controller was connected, the keyboard would also work. If the controller was not connected, the keyboard would navigate emulationstation but would not function in any of the emulators. Almost like it was disconnecting the keyboard as a controller.

This complicates things if you want to be able to connect a wireless controller and also use an I-Pac or some other arcade controller interface that emulates a keyboard when not using the wireless controller.
