Neat! I had a similar idea and sadly didn't realize this project was already a thing so I made: https://github.com/psifertex/SlackStatus.spoon
Your code is much higher quality, but I do allow for setting status based on multiple apps (in a really janky way, it was definitely a one-off) but it wouldn't be a bad idea to enhance the number of detected chats!
