svg-sprite-generate fails silently when an svg file is empty

Running svg-sprite-generate -d path/to/input/dir -o path/to/output/sprite-file.svg over a directory that contains an empty svg file does not generate an output svg sprite and no error messages display in the command line indicating a failure
