Geen smoke for FOB too high or suspected undergound in some cases

Have been hitting GaW hard with helos and enjoying CTLD.
Have a bit of feedback i'll share..

We initially noted green smoke marking a FOB to hover in the air, and then later found it to be at the ground leven and in another case missing all together.

Am I right to suspect that the smoke is deployed at a fixed altitude above MSL?

And if so is it possible to re-do this to do a check of the ground level and deploy it at the ground (assuming it deploys in 3D space) or just have it deploy on the ground?

To build a mental picture we were creeping toward Beslan in GaW stage 2, working toward the airfield from the west toward it.

None of the fobs we deployed there had visible green smoke.
