Unable to add in URL and Accessed Date for Reports or Documents

I have edited the Archives of Toxicology style using the Visual Editor to add in URL and Accessed Date for Reports or Documents. But when I test this using Zotero, the URL and accessed date doesn't show up. Is this a bug? How can I resolve this issue?

Thank you.

It's very unlikely to be a bug, much more likely to be a problem with your modified style or with how you install it in Zotero. We'd have to see the style code (post to gist.github.com) to say more.

Hi adam3smith

Thank you for your help. I just posted the code to gist.github.com and called the code "Edited Archives of Toxicology code". Let me know what the problem is. Thank you.

It doesn't seem to be a problem with how the code is installed in Zotero because when I test it with article journals, patents and theses it works fine. It's just for documents or reports that I can't see the the URL and accessed date in the bibliography.

We'd need the link to the gist

How do I get the link to the gist?

I found out how to get the link. Here it is: gist:32ddb3a50dc1ebe1cbc6c5f1b137ad8c

I'm getting the URL for reports with this. For documents you'd need to add them for the item type article

OK. That's interesting because I'm not. When I import the style to Zotero and I choose a report to see how it will be shown in the bibliography the URL and accessed date doesn't show up. This is how I import the style to Zotero:

  1. I click on Edit then go to Preferences.
  2. To import the style, I click on the + button then browse to the csl file and click on Open
  3. Then I click on OK.

This is how styles should be imported in Zotero right?

How exactly are you testing this in Zotero after installing (i.e. how are you looking at the bibliography -- Word add-on, Create Bibliography, quick copy?)? And you're absolutely positive the item has a URL?

You're right the examples I were looking at didn't have URLs. I retried it with examples that had a URL and accessed date and I could see both in the bibliography. This is how I do it. I select a report then I go to Edit followed by Preferences and I select the style I just imported. Then I click on Style Editor and at the bottom I can see how Zotero will cite it.

Thank you very much for your help. I appreciate.
