Cluster unable to scale

Managed to bring my cluster into a state where pressing to scale to any other than 3 nodes will give me a status 500 response from the UI.

The cluster has 2 nodes.

Scaling to 3 from the UI doesn't crash but the cluster state will not change.

Potential repro:

  1. start with 3 nodes
  2. scale to 2
  3. Instantly scale back to 3

Also managed to break with:

  1. New cluster 3-node medium cluster
  2. Scale down to two
  3. instantly press go back on browser
  4. boom you cant scale your cluster anymore

Thanks for these. I'm unable to replicate at the moment but due to unrelated issues on the platform. I'll keep this open and have a look when that issue isn't so pressing.
