Firefox Build: VirusTotal lookups do not work

For some reason the VirusTotal lookups come back with "Check settings" errors even when configured properly. This works fine in Chrome and also seems to work fine for all (or most?) other lookups.

Need to debug why VirusTotal looks fail.

Appears to be a CORS issue, need to tweak permissions in firefox manifest.json to allow.
