The "stable" channel is currently pointing to ESLint v3 which is 5 years old now.
In addition, ESLint of v8 is still not supported.
Could we do something about that? I'm happy to help
What I'd suggest is that stable is updated to point to v8. Realistically, you can drop channels prior to version 6 (and I think even 6 is being generous), but if you really want, you could keep the older versions too.
