Display frequency of notifications.

Closed this issue · 7 comments

After address input, before moving on from map section.
Tiffany to mockup.

Not really knowing what this issue is addressing, as a user it would be nice to have an idea of how many notifications I should be expecting on average (understanding they are variable) before/while choosing categories.

Some mockup ideas to help people get a sense of how many notifications they might get from a topic. For now, this will be an estimation based on last week's numbers. Feedback @livienyin @invisiblefunnel @lyzidiamond @eeeschwartz?

1. "Fill in the blank" concept
Before address input:
frequency-03
After address input (sentence is automatically filled out upon user click of the "Find Me" button):
frequency-01

2. "Low bar expand" concept
Before address input:
frequency-04
After address input (low bar expands only if user clicks up arrow):
frequency-02

These both look fantastic. I'm partial toward "Fill in the blank" when considering an eventual mobile view wherein the "Low bar expand" might overcrowd the map in full text mode. Thoughts? We could also display "building permits (selected topic)" in estimated frequency before address input.

Can you share the bar and phone icons when you get the chance? I'll likely start on this on Wed so anytime before then works. @invisiblefunnel I'll want to pair with you at some point on populating the estimated frequencies if you have availability later this week :)

@tchu88 these are awesome! @livienyin yes, for sure!

I agree with @livienyin about the fill-in-the-blank. I always like knowing where things are because when they appear out of nowhere I get confused 👻

ahh. @livienyin i missed this. looks like you already grabbed the phone frequency icon :)

Complete, closing.
