@ondrae I was playing around a bit more w/ the gotissues db and remembered we had an experiment with top issues. We've also been collecting # of times viewed for an issue recently, so I thought we could possibly try something like below for widgets and add helpful information at the bottom.
'Last commented: Sept 3rd. Add your thoughts!' or like 'Last updated March 2nd. Help out!' Or even, 'There were 3 people who watched this repo after clicking it, now it's your turn' or even just basic stats, like 'Open for 3 months' or 'Clicked on 14 times'
Yeah, just thinking since we want to encourage as much activity as possible, we should can can show things that can help people want to be more helpful.

We should soon start trying to improve the issue finder UI itself, based on what we've learned.
I guess we could brainstorm more of what we should put on the issue finder, but here's a start!
