Set design of dasboard

Based on our experience of what can be done with ArcGIS, propose a design for the dashboard.
- color palette? CRWA Color Scheme.pdf
- which charts where?
- style of data points?
- where are the texts? which texts
- where is the URL to download the data?
- where is the link to contact? is there a webpage from crwa.org embedded somewhere?
- ...
Output:
- a sketch or description that the ArcGIS dashboard creators can use or follow.
Are users are more interested in filtering by town or sampling site?
I do think it makes sense to have it by town - that seems most understandable to outside users who may not know our site names. But I do like that the sites are dots on the map and have their location identified by a description and site number (We have layers for this is that I can share). I do want the sites (as dots) easily identifiable even when someone searches/filters by Town.
Also, Lisa:
- Can the default on the map be to show E. coli data? It'd be clearer, and then people could check off if they want to view phosphorus or chlorophyll a.
- Can the map always have an outline of the watershed on it? (we have that layer file if you need it)
- Can the map also show the major tributaries to the Charles, as we have data at many of those? (we have layer if you want)
- I like the big averages for the data in numerical form.
- I like the ability to filter by time period
- Can all of the graphs over time be line graphs? It'd be good too to show a trend line on these, and certain 'action limits' for each parameter (ex. for E. coli it'd be 126 and 630).
- In a future iteration, it'd be cool to have a pie chart with the number of samples that meet or don't meet these action limits.
- I don't really like the change of size of dots as a symbology technique for this data.I think just a solid circle with a color will be best. Perhaps we (or I) can create good colorbars for each parameter that corresponds to our action limits.
Update:
CRWA (Lisa) like the design. We will not invest much time in design anymore, only what we deem necessary for improving the UX. We still need more explanations and potentially a FAQ.
