maybe span efficiency should be comp var not perf var

I have a situation convexengineering/STOL@3de934c where other models want to use e but can't because it is in a performance model.

Interesting! From an engineering perspective does it make sense to talk about e as a property of the geometry rather than the loading?

It is a property of the geometry, so that tells me that it should be in comps
