Describe the bug
If changes are made to the mail settings and saved, they will not be applied. As soon as the page is reloaded, the old settings are displayed again.
Expected behavior
The changed settings should be saved permanently.

- Crater version: latest
- PHP version: 8.x
- Database type and version: mariaDB latest

I tried to reproduce this, this seems to be working fine.
