With the Brexit taking place in 2020, it appears that some people need a refreshment of geography:
- England, Wales and Scotland are part of Great Britain (Island).
- The Republic of Ireland is independent of Northern Ireland, and part of the European Union.
- The European Union is a community of European countries
- United Kingdom is a shortening for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (official title).
- United Kingdom is mainly situated on the European continent.
- Former colonies of the British Empire are found in Asia, Africa and America, and are now part of the Commonwealth of Nations which is an international association of 56 States whose history is related to the former British Empire in some way or another.
- United Kingdom is part of Europe, and remains a member of the Council of Europe since its official founding.
