Kanji characters do not get transferred over

I have a mz-n1 and transferred some Japanese songs over. Works great but anything in Kanji just gets transferred as a blank space. Katakana and hiragana transfers over fine.
Hello @nyichiban,
Please let me know what OS and browser you are on.
Are you using the full-width titling mode?
Is the MD unit you're transferring to capable of displaying kanji characters?
Also, please check if the error persists on https://web.minidisc.wiki - I have changed some things regarding full-width character transfer.
@nyichiban
I'm not the original author of the app. cybercase is. I just added the support for Japanese characters and some other features. The full-width character support switch is in the "three dots" menu on top of the page. Does the error persist on the other version of Web Minidisc I've sent you a link to? That one should automatically detect when you're entering Japanese text, and enable the correct settings.
Hello @nyichiban,
I don't have problems with late replies. No need to be sorry :).
Could you attach the images via github.com and not via email? It seems that doesn't support images, as I can't see anything.
Retyped in github:
Hey sorry for the late reply but it didn't work. So I tried the full-width and it didn't work. See the error in image(1).png
When I disable full-width it transfers over fine but the Kanji doesn't get transferred over. See the error in image.png
Funny thing is with full-width off it turn the hiragana into katakana as you can see in the second image but the error message on the first image is how the song should look.
@nyichiban
Ah, it's the N1. There are some problems with first gen NetMD devices (which the MZ-N1 is a part of), especially with the upload. When you see this error, try clicking "Reload TOC" in the menu and upload again. I've been trying to get those first gen devices running correctly for quite some time now, but they just behave really weirdly.
It transferred but the Kanji is still messed up. No Kanji and Hiragana is changed to Katakana. Transfer showed up fine like the picture I attached but not the actual case on the finished transfer. Any other ideas?
@nyichiban Could you try renaming that track? If you enable full width editing and select rename, it should give you two fields - the first one for romaji / katakana and the second one for kanji / hiragana / katakana / romaji.
@nyichiban That's the correct behavior. MD portables cannot show the second field on their internal displays. Only some decks (Sony LAMs for example) and -K remotes (f.ex. RM-MC12ELK) can show full width text.
@nyichiban SonicStage won't help. This is just something that the devices cannot do.
@nyichiban Ah, if you manage to add the correct kanji names to half-width titles, please let me know. If it turns out to be possible, I'll try to implement it into Web Minidisc.
