I get a 404 when I go to 'cylc.github.io/' with various standard protocols prepended, despite the fact 'githubstatus.com' indicates there are no general problems with GitHub Pages generally.

Interestingly, after a quick investigation it appears the documentation is still up at 'https://cylc.github.io/doc/built-sphinx/', so it seems there is an issue with the higher-level page configuration? Looking at the commit log, probably at least one of the four commits that went in on Tuesday has inadvertently broken that, since I think I looked at the site fairly recently (in the past few weeks sometime) when it worked as standard.

(You may be aware of this but thought I'd register it in case you aren't. Hi again, BTW!)

Oh, I've just seen that 'https://cylc.github.io/*' work. It is just the root homepage that hits a 404. I'll update the Issue title.

Reproduced locally checking out latest code, and running bundle install, followed by bundle exec jekyll s --watch --incremental. Couldn't find where it broke in the latest commits. Perhaps something changed in GitHub Pages.

Added an index.md file, with layout: default, and a simple Cylc title. Took the liberty to push directly to master to try to fix it.

https://cylc.github.io/ appears to be working fine for me again. Could anyone confirm it's working for them too and close the issue, please?
