Use Rasqal standalone

Hello,
Are there any examples/guidelines on how to use Rasqal standalone? By standalone I mean have it run the queries on top of custom storage modules but without using the LibRDF storage module implementation and all the model wrapping.

I saw some projects that use Rasqal as a query parser and then implement the engine themselves but we would like to use the Rasqal engine in its entirety, just without the dependencies to the rest of the suite.
