both strategies appear to start, run for some time, then quit with no errors or output

Well, mostly no output strategy1/start1.js will output searching... at the start of the run, but then returns to the command prompt. The other one just appears to run a bit, then back to the command prompt.
What is the expected behavior when no new pools are being created?
