bug: map name does not pop up when entering a new area at beginning of game

When you start a new game and transition from Pallet town to Route 1 then to Viridian City, there will be no popup telling you what map you are in now. This is temporary and I tried to narrow it down. Defeating your rival for the second time and/or leaving Viridian City to the north towards Viridian Forest saw it start to work. It now works for all maps, including Pallet Town, Route 1, and Viridian City.
