I've emailed MikroTik as of 2 days ago to request the source to the GPL licensed code they use, I'll update this issue as progress is made on getting that code.

It seems 5 days in mt@mikrotik.com is wholly unresponsive, I'll have to forward my inquiry to support for MikroTik.

So, a month and a half later I'm ready to close this issue. I have obtained and added the GPL licensed code that was used in the Omnitik, and I think they may have included other FOSS utilities in the gpl.zip file, although I have not had a chance to check.
Regardless, this issue is complete & can now be closed.
