Can't authorize the extension

Can't authorize the extension.
Does it need for the Databricks workspace to use any kind of Virtual private cloud?
(MSFT employee mentions smth like this here)

What was tried:

1. it failed to authorize with Databricks personal access tokens (PAT). without the extension giving any reason on why it fails
2. Trying to configure the extension and connect with AD authorization:
   After I added a token generated via this guide to the .databrickscfg file, now using "Auzre CLI" authentication option I receive the message:
   "Can't connect to https://adb-***.**.azuredatabricks.net/api/2.0/preview/scim/v2/Me"

Otherwise, the Workspace corresponds to all the requirements described in the official doc,
but in Azure it has "Enable no public API" set to False, if it matters.
