OccupancyType, OccupancyIdentifier , and standards compliance question/possible issue?

According to the usaddress documentation: "The address components are based upon the United States Thoroughfare, Landmark, and Postal Address Data Standard, and usaddress knows about the following types of components..."

Following the linked documentation to Address Data Content there is no mention of the terms (or variations with spaces) "OccupancyType" or "OccupancyIdentifier" - if you search for "occupancy" more generally you'll find entries related to "Subaddress Type" and "Address Lifecycle Status" - the mention in "Subaddress Type" seems to suggest "Occupancy Type" is a non-standard alias of "Subaddress Type"?

Similar results if you search the formal copy hosted by FGDC.

What are "OccupancyType" and "OccupancyIdentifier" and how do they differ from "SubaddressType" and "SubaddressIdentifier" - is it possible the terms are switched around, or referencing an older version of the referenced standard?

Assuming a goal is a 1:1 mapping of terms to established standards, should "OccupancyType" and "OccupancyIdentifier" be dropped, with training data updated to parse into subaddress components?
