Modelling Event and Snapshot for Use in Looker

Opened this issue · 0 comments

What's your key point?

This is a large post about how to use dbt to stand up a model to provide combined insights into events (the occurrence of something) and snapshots (how many of something are in a particular stage). It demonstrates extensive use of dbt Jinja and practical application in exposing the data in Looker.

Any open questions / requests for help from the group?

This is a "soup to nuts" post, discussing requirements gathering and documentation, model creation, standing up in Looker, along with case studies. While the model could be adapted for use by other analytic tools, the use of LookML makes it very specific to Looker.
