Hey just double checking, it is cool to use this for model for commercial use. I noticed the apache license so I am guessing is it ok but I want to confirm since it is related to alpaca. Just confirming this is directly related to https://huggingface.co/declare-lab/flan-alpaca-xl.

Hi, the model itself should be safe to use as it is based on T5. The alpaca training data was originally generated from GPT-3 but now I guess it can be treated as public web training data. Disclaimer: not legal advice, please check with your lawyer before launching a commercial service

I also have the same concern. It seems OpenAI explicitly says in section 2(C) of their terms of use (https://openai.com/policies/terms-of-use) that using their output to develop models competing with OpenAI is prohibited. I'm not sure what's considered as competing with OpenAI.

@avb-is-me Any thoughts? Did you end up using alpaca?
