I can't find any reference to the license of this project.

Is this project released under the MIT, BSD, GPL, LGPL, Apache or WTFPL license? Or is it perhaps public domain?

I'm reluctant to use any code that doesn't contain any license details, as I need to be certain the code is compatible with the projects I'd like to include it in.

Please add some license details to the readme and/or as a separate file, so anyone interested in your code knows what we are legally allowed to use it for.

In case the intent is to release the code wholly unencumbered into the public domain, free for anyone to use for any purpose, you could use either of the CC0 or the Unlicense public domain dedications. Plenty of examples to be found right here on GitHub.
