No topics subscribed heating

Mqtt client runs in the background in a bad manner when no topics are subscribed. What makes the situation more confusing is when i subscribe with "#" I have no concerning battery drain.

When not subscribed around 10% battery usage
When "#" subscribed usually 1% or less battery usage.

version 4.5.0 (from playstore)

Please share more details about your phone like Android version, phone model. Also share the logcat, if possible.
