Mailbox.org - Status: needs preparation (Sever settings)

Set up with Delta Chat:

Step 1: in your browser mailbox.org email account go to "portal" (4 squares forming a big square, in the green bar, left upper corner), click on "Connect your device" (bottom right)
Step 2: Chose the type of device you want to configure (Windows PC, Android phone or tablet, MacOS, iPhone or iPad)
Step 3: Chose which application do you want to use (OX Drive or Mail), chose mail
Step 4: Save information about IMAP and SMTP
Step 5: Open / download Delta Chat, click on “add account”
Step 6: open "advanced settings" (below), in section IMAP Server replace “automatic” with "imap.mailbox.org", in section SMTP Server replace “automatic” with “smtp.mailbox.org"
Step 7: enter your mailbox.org email address and APP password, click on login, start chatting.

Does it work without Preparations? NO

• setting a per-app password
• setting an option in provider's web interface
• other: you start with a 30 days free trial during which your account activities are very limited. For example you can only send messages to mailbox.org email addresses. You need to buy credit for your account to provide unlimited functions.

How can you register at the provider?

mailbox.org Standard (Mailbox light is not an option at the moment)

Step 1: go to https://mailbox.org/en/, click on Sign up
Step 2: chose your price plan (see note below!)
Step 3: chose your email address and create password
Step 4: fill in the form: title, first name, last name, country, region
Step 5: solve captcha and read and accept data privacy statement, terms and conditions and cancellation policy
Step 6: you can now give either an alternative email address or you phone number for password reset or skip this step (I put manudresner@hotmail.com). You are now in the 30 days testing period with limited features (see note)
Step 7: in your browser mailbox.org account go to settings (wheel in upper right corner), click on mailbox.org (upper left, first in the list)
Step 8: click on "add credit to your balance", chose payment method and region you live in
Step 9: pay the amount you want, log out, log in, now you have full excess to all features of the Standard price plan
