unable to run on myPOS Smart N5

ditistijn opened this issue · 11 comments

I just got an offer to build an app for a company that uses the Smart N5 and got the opportunity to use their unit for some debugging. While I tried to run the app via Android Studio, I get the error "Cannot run App on N5: Sync failed".
I can't seem to find the developer mode on the myPOS OS. How will I be able to enable USB Debugging?
Thanks in advance,
Tijn Coertjens

Hi,

Can you confirm your device is in debug mode. Bottom right corner you should see red 'Debug Mode' watermark.

There is no watermark on the screen. I don't think it is in debug mode. How can I do this?

I have the same issue here, or similar.
When I try to install my app on the N5 via USB with Android Studio I always get:
Installation failed due to: 'Unable to open sync connection!'

USB debuging mode is activated in settings.

Any ideas what the issue is?
Thank you.

How did you enable USB debugging ? Did you do that on the device itself ?

Yes in device settings enable developer options. But still the apks are not installed.

I can't seem to find a developer options menu on the unit. Does that have to be enabled remotely by myPOS?

Probably there is portal to manage the POS terminals remotely.
I dont have a setings icon to click, it just happens to be a recent app in the task manager, then I can go to developer options. useless anyway,
check with the company if they have a myPOS portal to manage the terminal.
