Slightly related to our project, Google Chrome has decided unilaterally to make <toast> a native HTML element: https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/forum/m/?#!msg/blink-dev/Gl7FIKM5IFw/tA70X9ZIBQAJ
Which means that when/if it will be supported by Safari/WebKit, people we'll be able to overlay a WKWebView that displays a <toast> with a native Apple look.
