Marcel Vaz from Kraft Lab (UCLA) has collected data on the architecture of saplings and understory trees in the Amazon forest for >500 species species from Manaus (Brazil) and Cocha Cashu (Peru). Variables measured were plant's height, width and thickness, DBH, and crown illumination index.
