I have Java 11 installed and on the path for my system variables as well as Apache Maven 3.6.1. But still cannot install or pre-compile spark

Can you post the error message you get?

It's difficult to say more without details of the error. In any case, please try Julia 1.0. Things do work with that Julia version.
