Hi,

I cant seem to program midi drums, can you help me which channel and instrument I should choose for it? Thanks a lot.

@cemevin, This is for a midi file, not based on any instrument. So, it depends on your setup in your DAW.
But you can certainly use it, you can create a single midi file, with different notes as the different instruments, so you can use C for Kick, C# for Snare, D for clap and like that.. You obviously have to map those out in the virtual instrument you are using.. But the programming part should be fairly easy..

If i was to do this, i would create separate tracks for each separate sounds in the drumkit, and use one-shot samples to create the beat...

Hi, I have found a way. Channel 9 is reserved for drums so i added all my drums related instruments there (hihat, ride, kick etc). It worked out fine :) Thanks for your insterest!

@cemevin Ya, so pretty much you had to do that same thing... though channel 9 is not the standard but you can do anything that works out for you... The best way which could be standard to all DAWs would be to use samples and use only the C4 note....
