Opening a new file from the project pane seems to trigger the (re)numbering correctly.

Switching to another opened tab eliminates the shown number on the new tab (I guess that's desired?). I think the main bug is that, the number of the previously-used tab isn't restored when switching to a new one.

Yeah the numbers only show up sometimes.
