We provide support for issues that try to cooperate and provide useful information. For this reason, we have several issue templates that you can choose from:

If you decide to use none of these templates, we will close your issue outright. If you don't want to take the time to fill out a small template, we won't take the time to read your issue.

Here are some guidelines:

  1. If you are experiencing an issue with JDA, you should open a bug report issue. Even if it's not a bug, it contains useful information to figure out what's going on.
  2. If you want to achieve something but don't know what approach to take, you should open a question issue.
  3. If you want to request a new feature or want to suggest an improvement, open a feature request issue.
  4. If you want to suggest a code or documentation change, you should open a pull request which applies this change. We might reject it but that is the best way to go for something like that.

If none of these apply to you, then you should probably use the question template. However, most issues should fall into these categories.

You can always join our discord server, if you don't feel like it belongs into an issue on GitHub. We provide support there and have a helpful community of experienced developers.
