Two icons in the System tray

I recently upgraded from version 2.49 to version 2.56 of Keepass2 on Ubuntu 18.04. However, after the upgrade, I noticed that there are now two icons in the system tray - one normal and the other a blank black square. Both icons have full right-click functionality, but I prefer the single blue tray icon that was present in version 2.49 without the duplicate-blank one right next to it on the system tray.
I downgraded back to version 2.49 in /usr/lib/keepass2, which restored the expected functionality of a single tray icon. However, I would like to use version 2.56 and still have only one tray icon.
Can you please advise on how I can fix this issue and achieve the desired functionality?
