/UserSignup failed to start

Opened this issue · 5 comments

I am working on lab "In-container Java Development: Eclipse", and failed to start app "/UserSignup"

Host OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
VM: Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.2.20
Ubuntu 190.04.1 is installed in the Oracle VM
Docker 18.06.1-ce is installed in the Ubuntu

The following are the container log, and shows SEVERE error about JDBC driver.

How can I fix it ? Thanks

have you solve this problem? I meet it today

OK,
First replace in pom.xml:

<dependency>
	<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
	<artifactId>hibernate-validator</artifactId>
	<version>4.3.1.Final</version>
</dependency>

and then create server.xml in developer-tools/java-debugging/registration-webserver/tomcat/server.xml
write following content to it:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

in fact, I just close all listeners that Prevent memory leaks.

finally,add

RUN rm $CATALINA_HOME/conf/server.xml
ADD tomcat/server.xml $CATALINA_HOME/conf/

to developer-tools/java-debugging/registration-webserver/Dockerfile

then just rebuild with docker:

docker-compose up --build

i've fixed this by upgrade spring-webmvc version in pom.xml file

from

<dependency>
	<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
	<artifactId>spring-webmvc</artifactId>
	<version>3.2.4.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>

to

<dependency>
	<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
	<artifactId>spring-webmvc</artifactId>
	<version>4.3.2.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>

Thanks @kevin-isky . Did you open a pull request with that? Seems like a reasonable thing to do anyway.
