Provide Anchors for headers in the documentation pages on https://hub.docker.com/

Opened this issue · 3 comments

When wanting to point users to specific parts of the documentation its usefull to have anchors attached to headlines.

Comparing the source of a header from https://hub.docker.com/r/arangodb/arangodb/

Github even offers an easy chainlink handle that appears on mouse over next to the headline; This way its easy to grab the anchored link: https://github.com/docker-library/docs/tree/master/arangodb#choosing-an-authentication-method

Please implement a similar feature for the docker library.

This is a real pain. It's impossible to reference docs properly because of this.

Every section should have an anchor.

Will this ever be added? The quality of the hub site has improved recently, but not the docs.

Hate to bring back an old issue, but it hasn't been marked as stale or closed so as they say in the memes: It's free real estate.

Ran into this again today while trying to link a co-worker to a section of the documentation for some important information. Sometimes the snippet of information that's relevant is hidden in a subtitle from the image's description and linking directly to it would be incredibly useful to users.

For anyone who somehow got this far looking for a workaround, I'm currently using Chrome's Link to Highlight feature (ironically there is no anchor to link to the correct section of this article 🤷).

Example: https://hub.docker.com/_/mysql/#:~:text=Restoring

Please consider this feature!

That would be a great improvement
