you need to do /refreshskin when done

You have pressed several times on the shortcut/bind of your fishing rod, that's why, if you press once and then you do X for stop fishing, the fishing rod disappears.

ExecuteCommand(refreshskin) maybe? I know its not a fix for it but better than nothing
