should prompt for admin user name if user has no admin rights

macgeneral opened this issue · 5 comments

I know its possible to launch the script from here Continuity Activation Tool.app/Contents/MacOS/contitool.sh but I work as a standard user with no admin rights and launching the app tries to gain sudo rights for the user which has to fail ;)

a simple check if the user is in the group of admins and else a prompt for a valid admin user would be nice!

Thanks for the feedback, it's a good point. I'll look into this enhancement for a future release.

Isnt this fixed in the latest relaese?

Not yet, but hopefully I'll find the time to address it soon. As a rule of
thumb I try to prioritize issues that are reported a lot, that are critical
(e.g. boot issues, broken Wi-Fi). Will do my best.

The issue was fixed in CAT v.2.0, which includes a typical OS X credentials prompt when starting the app. Could you please verify?

Closing, considered as fixed.
