Plugin crashes Dokuwiki

I just tried to install the plugin but it renders my Dokuwiki inoperable. White window - no output whatsoever. I need to delete the blogtng folder in order to get anything running again. I've follwed the installation instructions (downloading from github, unpacking, renaming). Have I missed out on something or is this just reflecting the unstable state of the project?

Check your error logs and report the errors

Sorry for the delay. Wasn't able to check any earlier. Found the culprit in the apache error.log ... "Call to undefined function sqlite_open()" .. After installing php5-sqlite everything back to normal. Thanks.
