Turn ON particulate matter sensor only when it is needed

PMS 7003 (particulate matter sensor) should be turned on/powered on only when its needed - this way we can extend lifetime of the laser diode.
We could use the high power output that was originally designed to control heater. The problem is that it connects to the ground terminal. That may not work.
AC:
- PMS7003 is powered on (diode and fan) only when it is needed - before the measurement is about to be taken (or with some additional delay so it provides a stable readout)
