backend API calls/batch work?

A request came in a while back for the ability to push multiple MARC records to Alma at one time, to make data cleanup/migration projects easier. The plugin isn't set up well for that right now because it wasn't DU's workflow -- we'd already pretty much migrated all of our collection-level MARC records before it was in production. This issue is here to collect user stories about batch processes and maybe come to a consensus on what the best approach for it would be.
