Ideally we should follow Maven project structure, but to reduce changes a propose to have top-level resources directory containing:
- build.txt
- all the images, including ones living inside images.jar
- log4j files
- everything else
For test there should be test/resouces dir

Agreed that we need to have standard directory structure. However if we rebuild the structure and files are moved, it will be harder to find history before directory structure change.
However what are benefits in changing directory structure or changes which you propose?

We will have all our apps resources in one place. Currently it can be tricky to find for instance icon location
